I am Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Scuola Normale Superiore, Florence. I am editor of the journal East European Politics and editor of the Routledge Book Series in Extremism and Democracy. I have previously served as Steering Committee chair of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Standing Group on Extremism and Democracy.
I hold a Ph.D. in Comparative and European Politics from the University of Siena and an M.A. in Politics from the University of Sheffield. I have held visiting positions at the University of Oslo, European University Viadrina (Frankfurt/Oder), and Central European University (Budapest).
My research interests cover the broad areas of comparative politics and political sociology, with a particular focus on extremism, radicalism, populism, and democracy; Euroscepticism; parties and party systems; social movements and political participation; and research design in the social sciences.
On this website you will find a list of relevant publications, scientific projects in which I am—or have been—involved, links to external resources, and some music playlists I have put together since August 2020.
